CARDS TO SHOW WE CARE

We asked some top people including Pete Fowler (who said yes with yetis!!), to help design a range of Christmas cards to sell in order to support local homeless charity The Wallich. The likes of Matt Needle, Phil Morgan and Kate Alizadeh have created beautiful designs that we think you'll love. We made a pun-tastic card too, which makes it 8 to a pack. Buy 'em below.

Only 1,000 of each design have been printed (when they’re gone, they’re gone!) and they will cost just £8 per pack. ALL the money will go The Wallich (after PayPal transaction fee and any postage top-up).
The money from every pack sold will go straight into providing services for rough sleepers, getting them off Cardiff's streets and into safety this winter.

I Loves Crimbo card pack, £8
(plus £1 p&p)

Each pack contains one of each design, 8 cards in total, complete with envelopes (handy) and a warm, fuzzy feeling followed sometimes by a mild smugness (don't fight it) that you'll be sending very cool cards by some very talented (and even famous) people.

Each card is 19 x 13cm (7.5 x 5 inches) and is blank for your personal message of festive cheer.

One card design per pack
Please don't ask for us to split up the packs. Life's too short and Christmas is too busy a period for such faff. We knows you'll understand.

Postage & Returns
Unliked everything else on this site, these card packs are being sent by Second Class mail. Sorry, but our incredibly flexible returns policy does not extend to this product.

Thank you for your support if you bought a pack in St David's Centre recently or if you're about to buy some cards now. Thanks too to the designers (more info on them below) and to WalesOnline volunteers who helped sell the cards in town.

A massive thank-you also to these good people for giving their time and talents for free: our design
heroes Pete Fowler and Phil Morgan, as well as incredibly talented illustrators Kate Alizadeh and Matt Needle (Matt did an amazing Apocalypse Now In A Minute poster for us, available in the Posters section). Designers Melin Edomwonyi, who runs Creative Mornings (Cardiff), Vic Cao of Stray Pixel (with whom we collaborated on our new Iconic Cardiff range), and Alex Jenkins (who has designed Prodigy album covers and co-owns Kin & Ilk coffee shops) all came on board to make this project a success. More info about them below.

"I’m a graphic designer, photographer and co-creator and owner of the KIN+ILK Café Bars in Cardiff. When I was asked by I Loves The 'Diff to design a card, I said yes immediately because we’ve supported The Wallich in the past through fundraising at KIN+ILK and it is such a great project to be a part of. The Wallich is an awesome charity that support over 5,000 people across Wales and 93p of every £1 raised goes directly to frontline support. I’ve always loved letterpress typography and I used some letters I printed at the Centre for Fine Art Print Research in Bristol to create the card."

ALEX JENKINS

"Hi! I’m Kate, I’m a freelance illustrator and picture book maker based at the Printhaus in Cardiff. I recently wrote and illustrated Quiet!, which came out in Jan '17 and illustrated That's Actually MY Blanket Baby! which came out in July '17. I got involved because I want to support homeless and vulnerable people. I ran art workshops at TAVS for a while and saw how important it is for everyone to have quality of life and feel safe, and hope this Christmas card design can help The Wallich provide for rough sleepers and other homeless people."

KATE ALIZADEH

"I am a freelance Designer/Illustrator based in Cardiff. Over the past decade I have worked for clients all over the globe such as Disney Pixar, 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures, V&A, Activision and many more. I loved the sound of this project which is why I was so quick to jump on board, to help out any way I can for such a worthy cause at such a hard time of the year for so many people who find themselves in unfortunate situations."

MATT NEEDLE

"I’m a graphic designer specialising in branding and digital design. Currently my time is split between running my own creative studio called Me Design, working with Illustrate Digital, a Wordpress Specialist Agency, as their design lead and hosting CreativeMornings Cardiff, a monthly breakfast lecture series.
I have absolutely no experience in card design but I do feel very passionate about helping people who are living on the streets. I’ve been noticing the growth in the amount of rough sleepers in Cardiff so when I was asked to participate in this project I said yes without blinking an eye."

MELIN EDOMWONYI

"I’m a Cardiff born artist working in illustration, painting, design and sculpture.  My idea for this card arrived instantly in my head, fully formed with a message of love."

PETE FOWLER

"I wanted to get involved with creating a charity card for I Loves The ‘Diff because it's for a really good cause. I think The Wallich do a fantastic job of helping out the homeless community, especially at this time of year when it's colder and people are more vulnerable. There are lots of creatives involved and hopefully we can raise a lot of money."

PHIL MORGAN

“I’m a freelance graphic designer at Stray Pixel in Cardiff. When I was asked to contribute to the project I knew straight away that I wanted to get involved – spending the time to design a Christmas card is really the least I can do to support The Wallich’s fantastic cause.  I’m really pleased to be included in the campaign, and hope it helps to raise lots of funds for The Wallich so that they can continue to support the homeless in Wales, not just at Christmas but throughout the year."
